Where MTB meets mhhhh…

In fact, it is important to make two of the most pleasant aspects of the holiday (or life?) the main actors, to put them in the foreground and to enjoy them to the fullest. Of course, we are talking about the most beautiful of all combinations: mountain biking and culinary delights. After all, in the Puster Valley you are in the cradle of South Tyrolean cuisine, which skilfully combines Mediterranean and Alpine influences. Here, Italian flair meets Tyrolean tradition. Where Tyrol meets Italy, the Alpine meets the Mediterranean.

Here, two culinary worlds meet and unite perfectly. At the summit you eat spicy spaetzle in the rustic alpine hut, in the evening tagliatelle al ragù in the gourmet restaurant. In Olang, tradition, rites, and rural culture are lived and celebrated, which is reflected in the cuisine of the region: Regionality, sustainability and authenticity are not empty, meaningless words, but charming realities of life. Like everything in Olang, the culinary establishments, from the alpine hut to the local restaurant, are small-structured, traditional and exclusively family-run. The parlours ( called“Stube” here) are small and structured, however, the sun terraces are much larger. Cordiality is the currency here. Whether high up in the Dolomites or down in the valley basin of Olang, traditional South Tyrolean specialities such as Schlutzkrapfen, dumplings or sweet Strauben are just as much a part of the experience as traditional Italian dishes.

This is what South Tyrol tastes like!

Pleasure tours through the Puster Valley

In the Puster Valley you can expect fresh mountain air and culinary delights. In Olang, on the flank of the Kronplatz, there are many small, family-run huts to discover, which offer local specialities and wonderful sunny terraces along the flowing Gassl Trail. The bombastic view and the unique flair will be the icing on the cake. After all, the moments of enjoyment before and after your mountain bike tours are essential. They provide the extra energy kick and round off your holiday to a tasty overall experience. Because honestly: What would a stay in South Tyrol be without the typical cheese and speck dumplings, without the hearty home cooking on the alpine pastures or without the Italian specialities and the wonderful desserts?

No less than 5 well-signposted MTB tours take mountain bikers to the unique Olang alpine pastures in no time at all: up the forest road to the pasture, admire the view and, after enjoying the specialities, slowly descend into the valley.
