The fresh, spicy mountain air and the ever-increasing hunger after the ascent make the specialties of South Tyrol-Südtirol taste just that much better. The hospitable refuge hosts around Valdaora-Olang offer a broad assortment of traditional pleasures for the palate, providing the perfect invitation to stop in for a drink or a bite to eat after a hike or an excursion with the family. To your health!
The lush green plateaus that nestle up to the rocky crags of the Olang mountains are an ideal destination for pleasure hikers. Fresh forest air, colourful mountain meadows and babbling brooks are your constant companions as you hike from Olang along well-signposted paths up to the alpine pastures. Angerer Alm, an inviting place for an enjoyable circular hike to the south of Oberolang, is not just popular among families. And a few metres higher up is the sun-kissed Lanzwiesenalm with its welcoming inn and wonderful views. The path that winds up to the Brunst Alm is somewhat more challenging. But once on the airy chalet terrace, your exertions will soon be forgotten: the view of the Kronplatz and Prags Dolomites that unfolds on a clear day is unique. Just like the delicious fare that is served in this magnificent setting...
Incidentally: twice a week, the tourist information office in Olang puts on an enjoyable guided alpine hike for visitors.
